The European Life and Health Underwriters' Association (ELHUA) is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2009, designed to enhance professional development opportunities for underwriters throughout Europe.
As Chief Medical Officer, Ana is responsible for leading the Medical Department at MAPFRE RE and for managing the operation of a new online underwriting tool at Risk Med Solutions. She has more than 30 years of experience in Life and Health insurance and reinsurance at international level. She is very involved in the implementation of new medical advances and technologies in risk assessment and nderwriting decisions, as well as in healthcare management.
Ana is an MD & PhD and holds an MBA from Houston University, a Master in Law from The European University, a Master in Life & Health Insurance from INESE and a Board Directors Certificate from the Institute of Board Directors and Administrators. She is a professor at UNIR (International University of La Rioja) at the Master in Healthcare Management. She is executive Board member at ICLAM (International Committee for Insurance Medicine), founder member and President of ELHUA (European Life & Health Underwriting Association), member and head of the Biomedical section at the Spanish Association for Insurance and Risk management (AGERS), member of the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA/SEAIDA), member of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine (AAIM), member of the British Underwriting and Insurance Medicine Association (AMUS), member of the Italian Insurance Medicine Association (AIMAV), member of the Colombian Underwriting Association and member of the Argentinian Insurance Medicine Association (SAMS), and regular lecturer on risk assessment, process management and product development.
Paul is responsible for guiding FINEOS business operations in Europe, Middle East & Africa. FINEOS is a leading provider of core systems for life, accident and health insurers globally with 7 of the 10 largest group life and health insurers in the US as well as 70% of the Australian group risk market using the FINEOS platform.
He previously held a number of leadership roles, most recently at Munich Re as Executive Vice President, EMEA for its Automation Solutions division. At Munich Re, Paul’s team provided new business processing and underwriting automation solutions to many of the world’s leading and best-known life and health insurers. He is dedicated to advancing the insurance industry by enhancing efficiency and customer experience

Adela joined RGA in April 2002. She has worked in the underwriting department since 2005 and, after achieving the
Underwriting Official Qualification by the Academy of Life Underwriting (USA), she has been responsible for the underwriting case assessment for the RGA Spanish and Portuguese market since 2007. Since 2012 she has also been
responsible for the claims assessment as well as been involved in the product development and management of the underwriting and claims standards. Since October 2014 she is responsible for the whole Underwriting and Claims
department.
Luanna Eroles is an Innovator and Product owner at heart. She was in charge of conceptualizing and developing the s.360 life underwriting saas, award winning platform chosen as Life Insurtech Favorite at ITC Vegas 2024, Swiss Insurtech of the Year 2024, Seal Award Winner in Madrid 2024 and more. Luanna has a passion for Life, Health and social causes, is also active in research of novel approaches to mental health and AI with children and teenagers with the platform happykids.ai - an initiative supported by the European Framework of Social Businesses. Speaker, teacher and scriptwriter, she wrote books, TV documentaries and childrens’ resilience training materials. Luanna is part of the ELHUA Committee since 2024.
Francisco, from Portugal, Médis (health insurance, Médis – Ageas Group). Part of the ELHUA committee member since 2022. Academic background in economics, business, and risk management. With over ten years of valuable experience in the health insurance industry, with experience in technical underwriting, medical underwriting, new product development, and digital transformation programs. From 2022 to 2024 he was part of the new Healthcare Ecosystem of Médis, inside Ageas Portugal, being responsible for driving B2B growth of Healthcare Ecosystem. Since January 2025 he is Program Manager of a New Offer and Product Development strategic initiative in Healthcare insurance.
Dr Marina Tomasic oversees the medical underwriting at Foyer Assurances, where she is active in medical risk underwriting and claims management for Life and Health Insurances. After completing her medical studies at the University of Zagreb in Croatia, she relocated to Luxembourg, gaining nearly a decade of experience in harmaceuticals and working with the Luxembourg Cancer Society, before transitioning to the insurance sector. Marina has been a member of the ELHUA committee since 2022.
Çağdaş, who is the certified medical underwriter manages the Medical Underwriting and Claim Medical Assessment and Claim Operations Teams of Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik A.S.’s Life Insurance business. He is also responsible for the automation of underwriting guidelines, core system update project, bancassurance negotiations and new product designs. He joined Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik in 2006 and has a career spanning more than 19 years across various positions in Reinsurance, Product Management and Life insurance. Çağdaş has been a part-time lecturer in the Turkish Insurance Institute since 2015 and a member of the Executive Committee of ELHUA since 2022.
